อริยวงศ์ ๔ อย่าง ๑. ดูกรผู้มีอายุทั้งหลาย ภิกษุในพระธรรมวินัยนี้ ย่อมเป็นผู้สันโดษด้วยจีวรตามมีตาม ได้ และมีปรกติกล่าวสรรเสริญความสันโดษด้วยจีวรตามมีตามได้และย่อมไม่ถึงการแสวงหาที่ ไม่ควร ไม่เหมาะ เพราะเหตุแห่งจีวร และไม่ได้จีวรก็ไม่เดือดร้อน และได้จีวรแล้วก็ไม่เกี่ยว เกาะ ไม่หมกมุ่น ไม่ติดแน่น มีปรกติเห็นโทษ มีปัญญาเป็นเครื่องสลัดออก บริโภคอยู่ กับทั้งไม่ยกตน ไม่ข่มผู้อื่น ด้วยความสันโดษด้วยจีวรตามมีตามได้นั้น ก็ภิกษุใดเป็นผู้ขยัน ไม่เกียจคร้าน มีสัมปชัญญะ มีสติมั่น ในสันโดษด้วยจีวรนั้น ดูกรผู้มีอายุทั้งหลายภิกษุนี้แล เรียกว่า ผู้ตั้งอยู่ในอริยวงศ์ของเก่าอันยอดเยี่ยม ฯ ๒. ดูกรผู้มีอายุทั้งหลาย ข้ออื่นยังมีอีก ภิกษุย่อมเป็นผู้สันโดษด้วยบิณฑบาตตามมี ตามได้ และมีปรกติกล่าวสรรเสริญ ความสันโดษด้วยบิณฑบาตตามมีตามได้ และย่อมไม่ถึง การแสวงหาที่ไม่ควร ไม่เหมาะ เพราะเหตุแห่งบิณฑบาต และไม่ได้บิณฑบาตก็ไม่เดือดร้อน และได้บิณฑบาตแล้วก็ไม่เกี่ยวเกาะ ไม่หมกมุ่น ไม่ติดแน่น มีปรกติเห็นโทษ มีปัญญาเป็น เครื่องสลัดออกบริโภคอยู่ กับทั้งไม่ยกตน ไม่ข่มผู้อื่นด้วยความสันโดษด้วยบิณฑบาตตามมี ตามได้นั้น ก็ภิกษุใดเป็นผู้ขยัน ไม่เกียจคร้าน มีสัมปชัญญะ มีสติมั่นในสันโดษด้วยบิณฑบาต นั้น ผู้มีอายุทั้งหลาย ภิกษุนี้แล เรียกว่า ผู้ตั้งอยู่ในอริยวงศ์ของเก่าอันยอดเยี่ยม ฯ ๓. ดูกรผู้มีอายุทั้งหลาย ข้ออื่นยังมีอีก ภิกษุย่อมเป็นผู้สันโดษด้วยเสนาสนะตามมี ตามได้ และมีปรกติกล่าวสรรเสริญความสันโดษด้วยเสนาสนะตามมีตามได้ และย่อมไม่ถึงการ แสวงหาที่ไม่ควร ไม่เหมาะ เพราะเหตุแห่งเสนาสนะ และไม่ได้เสนาสนะก็ไม่เดือดร้อน และ ได้เสนาสนะแล้วก็ไม่เกี่ยวเกาะ ไม่หมกมุ่น ไม่ติดแน่น มีปรกติเห็นโทษ มีปัญญาเป็นเครื่อง สลัดออกบริโภคอยู่ กับทั้งไม่ยกตน ไม่ข่มผู้อื่นด้วยความสันโดษด้วยบิณฑบาตตามมีตามได้ นั้น ก็ภิกษุใดเป็นผู้ขยัน ไม่เกียจคร้าน มีสัมปชัญญะ มีสติมั่นในสันโดษด้วยเสนาสนะนั้น ผู้มีอายุทั้งหลาย ภิกษุนี้แล เรียกว่า ผู้ตั้งอยู่ในอริยวงศ์ของเก่าอันยอดเยี่ยม ฯ ๔. ดูกรผู้มีอายุทั้งหลาย ข้ออื่นยังมีอีก ภิกษุย่อมเป็นผู้มีปหานะเป็นที่มายินดี ยินดี แล้วในปหานะ ย่อมเป็นผู้มีภาวนาเป็นที่มายินดี ยินดีแล้วในภาวนากับทั้งไม่ยกตน ไม่ข่มผู้อื่น เพราะความเป็นผู้มีปหานะเป็นที่มายินดี เพราะความยินดีในปหานะ เพราะความเป็นผู้มีภาวนา เป็นที่มายินดี เพราะความยินดีในภาวนานั้น ก็ภิกษุใดเป็นผู้ขยัน ไม่เกียจคร้าน มีสัมปชัญญะ มีสติมั่นในปหานะและภาวนานั้น ผู้มีอายุทั้งหลาย ภิกษุนี้แล เรียกว่า ผู้ตั้งอยู่ในอริยวงศ์ของ เก่าอันยอดเยี่ยม ฯ The four noble families.
